Pakhal - Dal Lake Of Andhra Pradesh

It was a hot day . After hours of sweating in
the forest I decided to leave the forest to my next destination, with hope that
the life in the forest continuous to thrive without any human disturbances. I was
on my way to Pakhal now. Didn't know what to expect. I was hoping to see some
Croc's as people at Eturnagaram were talking of them.
As I was
going once again I came across the colony of storks which I had came across
before .
As I was
going further many fields came across.
As I was
going further then came across fields full of flowers.
I
don't know what flowers they were. I wondered what for those were used for.
With some interrogation of the locals, got to
know that they are used to feed the cattle . After knowing that I put a small
grin on my face & left . I felt that even the cattle were also there in
this struggle for land.
As I continued my drive I found this beauty
injured on the road I didn't feel like leaving it on the road took it , had
some clicks & left it in the fields beside & started off.
On the way again on the way
I came across my old friend, The kite . It was getting more hotter , with all
my luggage I was feeling tired had a few sips of water & again started now
went for a long stretch without any stops.
I was feeling bored as
there was no food for my mind , I was looking around for anything beautiful to
have some clicks but found nothing , finally after some time I saw something
odd on the road couldn't identify as I was speeding off I came back to see what
it was . when I saw, Can anyone identify the snake plz & let me know it was a road kill. A
snake which was crushed recently the body was fresh.
Now I entered a bypass road which leads to
Pakhal & on the way there were many villages.
The first person I saw as I entered the village
side was this toddy tapper with his pot full of fresh toddy . I
felt like tasting it but there was a long journey ahead . I didn't wanted to
take the risk . As I went further a school van came with loads of
kids in it.

Little kids all smiling & waving at me without any inhibitions & felt very happy .
I was going slow following the van smiling back
to the kids, after a few minutes I realised it was getting dark so moved ahead & for the next 50 minutes I
drove continuously & finally reached Pakhal.
It was already 5.00 in the evening & as I spoke to the forest officer he
revealed a shocking news to me . I was tired & confused didn't know what to
do. I was in a dilemma not knowing whether to go ahead or go back . As I was
thinking, few monkeys came & sat on my bike & started fiddling ,
pulling all things out . I shooed them away & i decided that I'll go ahead
instead of going back. The forest officer told that there was no place to stay.
No forest guest house or a hotel or even small
lodges . It was already 5.30 it was getting dark I wanted to see the famous Pakhal
lake which I thought was fully infested with Croc's . The forest officer told
that there were nearly 50-60 crocs in the lake but when I spoke to the local
fisherman fishing in the lake & they said there were only 4-6 Croc's . Didn't
know what to believe I searched the banks if I could find any signs of Croc's but no
luck .
But the lake was simply stunning at the sunset
it was like the "Dal Lake " of "J & K" .

There
were monkeys all around but no signs of Croc's & it was getting darker.
The
drive ahead was for
another 60 km's in the darkness of the forest to reach the next town for my
night stay. I set off again at the dawn of the darkness. As I was going deeper
into forest it was getting much colder & I was freezing, after a grueling
ride finally reached Yellandu town, took a room & had dinner . I lay off on
my bed watching the tv, slept like that with tv & light on, woke up 1.30 at
night switched off & again back to sleep. Next morning woke up at 8.45 got
ready & set off to Kinnersani .
